The Mausoleum Project is an ongoing collaborative installation (2005-present). It is presented each year in conjunction with Tucson's annual All Souls Procession, a massive public interactive ritual that honors the dead. A simple structural framework is covered with large scale illuminated drawn portraits of deceased family members. Some of the structures are exclusively my own work while other structures display drawings produced by my university students.
The Mausoleum is exhibited at several events each fall season in various formations according to the specifics of each site. This project offers many student artists the opportunity to exhibit drawings to thousands of viewers, while providing them with a deeply meaningful connection to their studies.
